The Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Coliseum was erected in Evansville, Indiana, in nineteen hundred-sixteen, at a cost of $180,000.00, exclusive of ground, and provides a modern Convention Hall with a seating capacity of five thousand, as well as quarters for the patriotic societies of Vanderburgh County. Built by private citizens to honor World War I veterans, the Memorial Coliseum is now maintained by the County and is used for sports, exhibitions, stage plays, and concerts. One of the largest organs inthe country is located in the building. Evansville, Ind. |
